21 November 2019 – The curtain came down on the 1st Round of the LaLiga Genuine Santander campaign on Sunday following three action-packed days of football and values in Tarragona. This stage of the competition featured a total of 54 games and brought together over 1,000 participants, including male and female players, coaching staff, fans, organisers and more than 300 volunteers from the Voluntariado Grana programme, which has now been involved in the project for the past three seasons.

Following the last of Sunday's on-field action, a presentation ceremony was held with Nàstic de Tarragona representatives President Josep Maria Andreu, Executive Antoine Jordà, Brand and CSR Director Josep María Andreu; Olga de la Fuente, Director of the LaLiga Foundation, Luis Gil, LaLiga Competitions and Players’ Office Director, Juan Carlos Díaz, LaLiga Commercial Director, and Manel Gómez, Deputy Director of Banco Santander’s Principal Office in Tarragona, Carlos Navarro, BASF Director, and Rodrigo Cannaval, BASF Tarragona Director.

In his address, Andreu took the opportunity to thank the unwavering support of all those whose efforts see LaLiga Genuine Santander grow year on year, whilst retaining its defining values. The Nastic chief also expressed his satisfaction at the large group of volunteers involved in the competition and, in particular, highlighted the presence of the supporters who back their teams in each phase of the tournament.

Over the course of the weekend, the 36 teams contested the first points up for grabs in the fair play stakes, with the sides rewarded for shows of sportsmanship and fair play from their players, coaching staff and fans. The results from this 1st Round will determine the make-up of the groups in this season's competition.

The exemplary attitude of the fans was the standout feature in this 1st Round

The stands at the Complex Esportiu Futbol Salou sports ground were awash with banners and flags of all of the teams as the fans willed the LaLiga Genuine Santander stars on, whilst the beating of drums and terrace chants ensured a lively atmosphere across the weekend's action.

This first phase in Tarragona was the maiden stop on a season's journey that will take in a number of Spanish regions. The 2nd Round, to be played across two matchdays featuring 18 teams apiece, is set to be staged in Seville from 31 January to 2 February, with Sevilla FC on hosting duty, before the competition resumes between 28 February and 1 March at Real Betis.
