NCPA Presents ‘Charishnu- The desire to move’ in collaboration with Sahachari Foundation


Mumbai:In its 50th year, NCPA and Sahachari foundation will Present ‘Charishnu- The desire to move’ on Saturday, 3rd August from 6:30 pm onward at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA. The event will present a spectacular dance production with 45 dancers showcasing short vignettes of classical, folk and martial dance forms of India and a percussion interlude. 
The forms are knit together, making them meet each other in a way that makes for a seamless presentation of 90 minutes. It symbolises unity in diversity – the hallmark of India.  Charishnu is one of a kind – the ultimate portal of Indian dance and percussion that makes you proud to be an Indian. 
Renowned artists like Aditi Mangaldas (Kathak), Aruna Mohanty (Odissi), 
Priti Patel (Manipuri), Imocha Singh (Thangta), Mahesh Vinayakram (percussion) and Leela Samson (Bharatanatyam) will lead their troupes, with each dance style in dialogue with the other and all coming together in a spectacular finale.Charishnu is conceived and directed by Leela Samson, ex-Director, Kalakshetra.
